A History of Church of God by Faith, Inc.

The Church of God by Faith was established in 1914 when “Daddy” John Bright met Sister Lucretia Scippio Roundtree and her mother, Sister Delia Scippio on a train. They agreed to have a prayer meeting in Jacksonville, Florida and the Church of God by Faith was established. The Founders were, Moderator John Bright, Bishop Aaron Matthews, National Evangelist Nathaniel Scippio and Executive Secretary, Hubert Steadman. GOD IS FIRST IN THE GODHEAD

We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, sovereign of the universe. He only is God, creative and administrative, Holy in nature attributes and purpose. He as God, is first in the Godhead, an essential being, revealed as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

These Colors and Symbols are biblically founded (Exodus 23:3-5) and have significant meanings:

• Gold denotes divinity

• Red signifies the sacrificial blood of Christ

• Blue implies heavenly origin
